Working out how to use business as a force for good is a key driver of Rubber Republic (well, that and making great films) so when our friends Ben Akers (from MadeWith+) and Matt Hocking (from Leap Design) let us know they and two collaborators had set up a festival for positive businesses we booked ourselves on.
The first run of any festival or event is challenging but the 2 days in the sustainability award winning Bedruthan Hotel in Cornwall were excellent, and hopefully the start of an annual event to allow time and space to gather great and determined creative minds together to focus on how creativity can contribute to solutions rather than perpetuate problems.
Highlights included two great talks from Mark Shayler and Mike Coulter, a great session from Chrissy Levett on achieving change, an update from Hugo Tagholm from Surfers Against Sewage about starting a social movement, and a great practical session from The Happy Startup School on focussing your messaging and intension to make your business fly.
Would highly recommend attending next year. Hope to see you there next May!
