To celebrate ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ and to mark the epic conclusion of the Skywalker saga, we followed up our previous Star Wars x Colin Furze projects by going back to the start and building an ambitious replica of Luke’s X-34 Landspeeder.
This was the fourth of Colin’s epic builds for the eBay and Disney collaboration. Colin’s audience has been the main request was that he builds something which moves and did he deliver! Armed with jet-powered engines and an insane attention to detail, Colin’s Landspeeder is a thing of envy and an absolute dream for Star Wars fans.
As with the AT-ACT and TIE Silencer, Colin sourced all the materials from eBay. This build saw Colin develop new skills in metalwork and presented a momentous challenge in which he knocked out the park.
We then surprised a father and son who are die-hard Star Wars superfans giving them a day they will never forget and a chance to ride in this incredible life-sized replica. To top off the day Colin gave them some Star Wars goodies from eBay to take home including a mint condition 1977 Millennium Falcon.
Expanding on previous fundraising efforts from our Star Wars project, the Landspeeder was also featured on BBC’s Children in Need and auctioned off on eBay after the show to raise £50,000 for the charity.
As well as multiple length and format of tailored social content for both eBay and Disney’s Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter activity, Colin also released films on his 8.5 million subscriber YouTube channel detailing how the craft was built, and showcasing the result to his fans.
Check out our previous Star Wars collaboration with Colin Furze for eBay and Disney when we surprised a group of young Jedi with a life sized TIE silencer.
Another collaboration between eBay and Disney to celebrates the families who share a collective love of a galaxy far far away.
