The auto-tune meme might well be on its last legs, but Sony’s Facebook twist is pretty cool nonetheless.
Sony has launched the ‘Auto-Tune Your Status’ app, which enables Facebook users to create a status update that can be played back as an auto-tuned song.
Once downloaded, you simply write a status update, select a voice and pick a beat.
The results are predictably bad, but all the better for it. At least three minutes of fun is guaranteed.
Once created, you can post your auto-tuned status update to your wall and news feed so friends can view it. On the downside, it’s not embeddable outside of Facebook.
The TV spot – created by 180 Los Angeles – is also pretty awesome …
